Jannat House is situated in the heart of Lamu Old Town. It’s a stone’s throw from the Indian Ocean. An old Swahili house from the late 1700 has been transformed into a cozy family hotel. We call it Jannat House – Paradise House.
Jannat House is made up of three ancient Swahili houses which have been carefully refurbished and expanded. It is now an exciting hotel with 16 personally styled rooms. It has a restaurant and bar, green shaded gardens, as well as a swimming pool. There are several relaxing terraces equipped with traditional divans and comfortable pillows where you can relax and enjoy the view and the sunset and sunrise.
Activities
Lamu Island and its surrounding archipelago offer a great number of activities, adventures, and excursions.
Many are involved in sailing a dhow, the traditional Lamu vessel for thousands of years. A dhow takes you comfortably and safely to wonderful places and gives you exciting experiences. Snorkeling the corals, deep sea fishing, paradise secluded beaches, marine reserves, historic and cultural sites, etc.
We operate together with experienced and reliable captains with their crew of warm and spiritual local sailor boys. They cook delicious meals from fresh fish, local vegetables, and coconut rice. Additionally, they sing, chat, and make your day enjoyable.
